Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Acceptance Rate: Admissions Statistics and English Requirements
NTU does not publish an acceptance rate, and neither NTU nor Singapore's Ministry of Education publishes how many applications or offers it makes. The official figure is intake: 6,501 full-time first-degree students entered NTU in 2024.

What the numbers mean
MOE's intake counts every student who started a full-time first-degree programme at NTU that year, including students admitted directly into the second or a later year. MOE also counts students of the National Institute of Education's BA and BSc (Education) degrees under NTU. It is a count of new students, not of offers, and there is no official applications figure, so no acceptance rate can be computed.
Singapore citizens have priority. MOE has said its institutions first admit Singaporeans who meet the admission standard, then raise the criteria and admit a small proportion of foreign students; in 2022 it put international students at around 10% of undergraduates across the autonomous universities.
Intake has been steady: 6,184 in 2022, 6,448 in 2023 and 6,501 in 2024. For applicants, what NTU does publish is the standard: indicative grade profiles for local qualifications, minimum requirements for each international qualification, and the English test scores below, which are mandatory for several national qualifications.

TOEFL iBT: 90 total with Writing 25 and Speaking 25 on the pre-2026 0–120 scale, or 4.5 total with Writing 4.5 and Speaking 4.5 on the 2026 1–6 scale (TOEFL iBT or Home Edition)
IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with Writing 6.5 and Speaking 6.5 (IELTS Academic or IELTS UKVI Academic)
Scores must be from within two years of the application deadline and submitted by that deadline.

Who needs an English test for NTU?
It is mandatory for applicants with the PRC Gaokao, Taiwan GSAT, South Korean CSAT or high school diploma, HKDSE, Vietnam High School Graduation Certificate, Thailand Mathayom 6 or Indonesian Ijazah SMA, and for applicants who did not take English in junior and senior high school or took it only as a second language.
